On Wednesday morning at the Annual Business Meeting, NAFSA President and Chair Fanta Aw announced that the video submitted by the United States Student Achievers Program (USAP) was voted the winner of NAFSA's 2013 International Education Video Contest. Cathrine Zimoyo, a USAP alumna who recently completed her PhD at the University of Minnesota, and Diane Young, the EducationUSA program officer for Sub-Saharan Africa, were on hand to receive an award from NAFSA. Representatives from the other finalist institutions, Colorado State University and the University of South Carolina, were also recognized. Congratulations to all of the finalists and thank you to all institutions and organizations that submitted videos this year.

United States Student Achievers Program (USAP)

USAP offers scholarships to low-income international students who otherwise would not be able to attend college overseas. USAP students are expected to become leaders in their communities following their education, and alumni gather each year to select the next cohort. This video features students from Zimbabwe, where the program began, but there are USAP programs in 13 countries.
