Suffolk University is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian university located in Boston. Founded in 1906, the University offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in its Law School, College of Arts & Sciences, and Sawyer Business School Located right in the heart of downtown Boston, Suffolk University gives its students unparalleled access to the city and all it offers.
Our college green is the Boston Common. We are steps from dozens of historic sites like the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, and the Massachusetts State House. We have no real boundaries to our campus—Boston and Suffolk blend together. That means our students have incredible access to a wealth of opportunities, whether it’s museums and restaurants or internships and co-ops. At the same time, we also take pride in being a personal, student-centered school, where faculty and administrators know students by name. We take the time to recognize each student’s promise, figure out what makes him or her tick, and build important mentoring relationships. In total, 8,321 full and part time students live and learn at Suffolk and in the area. This includes 5,496 undergraduate, 1,365 graduate and 1,460 law students. Suffolk has the 5th largest international student population of all of the area Boston schools. Over 1,500 students from as many as 110 international countries study at Suffolk.
As we have done since our founding, we strive for one thing at Suffolk: we give students the tools they need in order to be successful, smart, and satisfied at whatever they choose to do.
We are very pleased to invite attendees and guests of the NAFSA 2015 Conference to visit Suffolk University. Boston is more than just our address—it’s our community, our classroom, our workspace and our playground. As the only university in downtown Boston, we enjoy unique access to the city’s cultural and professional offerings, from the political spotlight to the theatre footlights. Suffolk's new building at 20 Somerset, slated to open Fall 2015, hails a new era for the University by creating a space where community and discovery can flourish.
