2015 NJ/Downstate NY Conference
Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2015
Where: Fordham University-Lincoln Center Campus
Workshop sessions in the morning and followed by Government Q&A session after lunch. The NAFSA F-1 Beginners CEP workshop will also be held at Fordham on Thursday, June 18.
Members of our region are encouraged to submit workshop proposals
to share your experiences and knowledge, address important issues, and
raise awareness in the field of international education.
2015 Upstate Region X Conference

The purpose of this conference is to
share ideas from the National conference, show trends, share ideas from
our campuses and encourage
collaboration in future projects. Please consider not only attending
but submitting a proposal for a session! If you have any sessions in

Region X Port of Entry Tour - JFK
When: April 10, 2015
Where: New York, NY
Join us for an intimate tour of U.S. Customs & Border
Protection facilities on April 10 at JFK Airport, one of the
busiest air ports of entry in the region. The tour includes
overviews of the New York Field Office, followed by a walk
through of primary and secondary inspection. The tour is
limited to 20 and includes transportation. Participants must
bring government issued ID and will have to be vetted in
advance of the tour.
Participants will be picked up at NY Port
Authority on the corner of 41st Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan at
11:45 a.m. The tour at JFK airport will begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at
3:00 p.m. A shuttle will be provided to transport participants to and
from the airport.
Because each participant must have their information vetted prior to the tour, there will not be on-site registration and we cannot add participants after the
2015 NAFSA Advocacy Day
Region X sent a group of seasoned Advocacy Day representatives and some first timers to NAFSA's annual event in Washington, DC. Our members met with their state and local congressional representatives to inform, promote and discuss important issues and legislation affecting international education.
