networking reception . This is a great opportunity to relax and get to
know your Northern District
NAFSA colleagues while enjoying some incredible local Napa wine! We are also planning a group wine tasting on Sunday before the reception. Please stay tuned for details on this!
The conference will be at Napa Valley College, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway, Napa, CA 94556. Parking will be free on March 21st in the general parking areas and no permit is required. Registration and check-in will begin at 8:00 am in the Performing Arts Center, which is closest to Lots A and B. Please view and print this map for your convenience.
This year we are excited to have Dr. Sandra Nichols, as our Plenary Speaker. She is a Cultural Geographer and Anthropologist who specializes in Mexican migration in the Napa valley region. Sandra grew up in Lima, Peru. She holds a BA in Anthropology an MA in Communication from Stanford and a Ph.D. in Geography from UC Berkeley.

As a twist to the usual line up of sessions we have a special guest speaker. Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche is a local Bay Area meditation master and the founder and spiritual director of Pristine Mind Foundation. He travels throughout the world teaching a broad range of audiences, including those at universities, tech companies and yoga studios, how they can improve their lives through meditation. The session he will be leading is titled, “Finding Happiness Within: Reconnecting with our Natural State through Pristine Mind Meditation,” will provide instructions and guided meditations on the unique type of meditation called Pristine Mind meditation presented in his book Our Pristine Mind: A Practical Guide to Unconditional Happiness.
Another added bonus for this year is there will be a hosted Wine and Cheese Networking event on Sunday, March 20th. There is no additional cost for this event if you are already signed up for the conference. We look forward to seeing you all in Napa on the 20th and 21st of March!
