Call for Proposals Now Open

Please consider submitting a session for this year’s conference. Sessions proposals must include more than one presenter and preference is given to sessions that represent multiple institutions/organizations.

Submit a proposal now

We know that all of you have very valuable knowledge, insights & opinions to offer in sessions, whether you are a small office juggling multiple demands with limited time & resources (which is often the case in our region) or one of our larger IE offices delving into internationalizing the campus at large. No matter what end of the spectrum you fall in, we all face some common obstacles such as funding & resources - not only for students, but also for our offices; dealing with civil unrest or natural disasters abroad; communicating with audiences in the age of social media; marketing the benefits of international education to students and much more. We can learn a lot from each other.

These are only the tip of the iceberg, please feel free to propose other topics as well. And, if you know what you like to do but need a little help finding a co-presenter, we would be happy to help you. E-mail your Region III Knowledge Community (KC) liaison to get connected with others in your area.

OFF-SITE VENUE

The off-site event will be at Heifer International. Headquartered in Little Rock, Heifer International provides relief efforts both nationally and internationally to provide livestock and training to families in need.

EXHIBITORS & SPONSORS

Back by popular demand, Region III will once again provide TWO free conference registrations for each exhibitor. Each exhibiting staff person will need to register individually and will need to have an individual NAFSA Passport account.

The exhibit space will be located directly outside of the main conference room where all lunches and keynote speakers will take place, so is an ideal location for networking between sessions.  All coffee breaks during the conference will also be held in the exhibit hall this year, allowing for maximum exposure throughout the conference.

Several sponsorship opportunities will be available at varying levels, and we will have this information available to you very soon.  In the meantime, for questions about exhibiting, advertising, or sponsorship, please contact Blake Hart, Region III Development Chair, at blake.hart@sit.edu.

ABOUT LITTLE ROCK

The Clintons may have put Little Rock on the map, but it’s also known for its Civil Rights history, a thriving cultural community, incredible restaurants and breathtaking scenery.

In addition to our off-site location, Heifer International, the River Market is also home to the Clinton Presidential Center & Park.  Both properties are "green" buildings and offer special tours. The Clinton Presidential Park Wetlands add “green” as well, with boardwalks winding throughout the preserve in downtown Little Rock.

In the vicinity you'll also find the family-friendly Museum of Discovery, which features an interactive indoor playground for young and old. A ride in the METRO Streetcar will take you through the River Market District and into North Little Rock.

Arts and culture mavens will love the Arkansas Arts Center, which houses both traveling exhibitions and an exceptional permanent collection of works on paper, and the ESSE Purse Museum on South Main street, the only American museum dedicated to the art of the handbag. You can also visit the historic Little Rock Visitor's Center at Curran Hall and learn more about the city.

TRAVEL

If you’re flying, the closest airport is the Clinton National Airport. In Little Rock. If you stay at the Marriott, they offer a complementary airport shuttle service to get to the Marriott at Statehouse Plaza, reservation required: +1 501 906 4000.

If you’re driving, the Marriott has valet parking, currently at $18 for day visitors and $25 for overnight parking.
