Chair/Chair Designate of the Subcommittee on Information Management

The chair of the Subcommittee for Information Management (SIM) takes the lead role in coordinating NAFSA's books and periodical program with staff and the knowledge communities. The chair sets the overall direction; develops the annual work plan with the subcommittee and monitors its progress.


This subcommittee is charged with:

  • Coordinating the work of the KCs in developing and maintaining up-to-date, high quality publications (print and electronic) that reflect the market needs of members and non-members.
  • Resolving any overlap among KC publications offerings; coordinating any multi-KC offerings.
  • Establishing and periodically revising guidelines and standards for publications (books, brochures, booklets, periodicals, CDs, Web-based publications, etc.).
  • Establishing and periodically reviewing/revising the standards for writers and editors for various types of publications, developing and implementing a program to identify and, if necessary, train writers and editors qualified to deliver the suite of publications to fill the needs of the strategic plan.
  • Encourage and recruit members to contribute as writers and editors for NAFSA publications.
