Develops resources on traditional financial aid for U.S. students who study abroad, as well as budgeting, grant writing, and scholarship administration.

Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the work of the subcommittee to develop resources on financing education abroad, in accordance with the annual EAKC Work Plan. Ensure that assigned items are completed.
  • Provide suggestions on FEA resource development to the chair of the EA KC Subcommittee on Financing Abroad Co-Chairs for inclusion in the annual Work Plan.
  • Attend regular teleconferences with subcommittee, as needed, to discuss ongoing projects
  • Collaborate with and recommend ideas to the Education Abroad Regulatory Practice (EA RP) Financial Aid Subcommittee to educate field about regulatory issues related to federal financial and federal scholarship programs.
  • Maintain a strong familiarity with NAFSA’s resources and offerings on financing education abroad. Assist members in locating these resources.
  • Maintain attentiveness to FEA topics by observing, prompting, and participating in online discussions forums and reading Act as a resource for colleagues with questions and concerns throughout the year.
  • Assist with facilitation of FEA topics for consideration at annual and regional conferences.
  • Assist with the NAFSA webpages on FEA by making sure they are relevant and current.
  • Work collaboratively with the EA KC Subcommittee on Financing Education Abroad, NAFSA staff, the EA KC Team, and others to plan and deliver resources and services.
  • Demonstrate current understanding of member needs on FEA.
  • Adhere to the EAKC Charge to the Subcommittee on Financing Education Abroad
