Position Overview
The Education Abroad Knowledge Community (EAKC) Visa Education Subcommittee is charged with developing educational resources on the visa application process. The resources will assist education abroad advisers and administrators who work with U.S. students.

Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintain attentiveness to issues of student visas for education abroad programs by observing, prompting, and participating in online discussions forums and reading
  • Work with the co-chairs and subcommittee members on issues and projects related to the visa application process.
  • Develop resources on the visa application process to assist education abroad advisers and administrators in their work with U.S. students and faculty.
  • Assist the World-at-Large group of the EA Regulatory Practice Consular Affairs Liaison (CAL) Subcommittee in responding to visa questions from the membership.
  • Encourage and facilitates the inclusion of health and safety related content for consideration at annual and regional conferences.
  • Participates in conference calls and an in-person meeting at the annual conference.
  • Contributes to the EAKC annual Work Plan and produces outcomes in accordance with NAFSA’s Strategic Plan.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of member needs specifically related to visa education issues.
