Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintains attentiveness to development and implementation of EA programs; including study, work, internship, service-learning and research abroad, by observing, prompting, and participating in online discussions forums and reading
  • Co-chairs the WIVRA subcommittee, facilitates the development of assigned work plan items and ensures effective communication between the EA KC and the subcommittee.
  • Attends leadership meetings at WLM and annual conference, participates in monthly conference calls for the EA KC national team as well as the WIVRA Subcommittee, executes other assignments from the chair, and represents the EA KC at annual and regional conference activities when appropriate.
  • Contributes to the annual Work Plan, in coordination with the EA KC chair-elect and in accordance with NAFSA’s Strategic Plan. Has an understanding of EA KC work plan objectives and an ability to engage members and discuss these efforts with the community at large.
  • Encourages and facilitates the inclusion of WIVRA Subcommittee related content for consideration at annual and regional conferences.
  • Seeks opportunities to identify or create resources for and add value to the EA KC network.
  • Has a strong familiarity with current NAFSA’s education abroad resources. Serves as point of contact to EA KC and members, in bringing awareness of, and locating appropriate resources.
