Global student mobility is about more than just what a student learns while abroad. It’s about how they apply the skills, knowledge, and insights gained for their future careers. Students seek applicable learning outcomes from an international experience while employers frequently report that they value global competency and intercultural literacy.

In this NAFSA e-Learning Seminar, participants will acquire a framework for intercultural career coaching. Through practice, international student advisers and education abroad advisers can help students demonstrate and articulate their intercultural skills. Advisers will also be ready to guide students in turning their international stories into relevant work and life experience for potential employers.

After attending this NAFSA e-Learning Seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Apply a framework for helping students identify and articulate their intercultural skills;
  • Employ successful techniques for career coaching;
  • Help students translate their international education stories into résumé-ready language;
  • Empower students to present their intercultural competencies as professional strengths; and
  • Implement strategies to increase the employment rate of students.

The content will be relevant to those working in international student services; education abroad; recruitment and admissions; career services; alumni affairs; campus internationalization; and academic and student affairs.
