The EA RP is charged with identifying regulatory practice issues that need action through government agency liaison by NAFSA staff or team members as requested by staff. The EA RP Committee assists NAFSA's vice president for public policy and practice (VPPPP) to communicate regulatory practice issues to members and identifies longer term public policy issues and forwards those to the VPPPP.

The EA RP team works hard to address regulatory practice issues that affect a broad variety of areas including federal financial aid regulations, education abroad visa issues, Clery Act reporting, and federal resources for education abroad professionals such as services available through American Citizen Services at the U.S. Dept. of State or the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).

EA RP Subcommittees

The EA RP subcommittees are made up of members with specific expertise in the education abroad field. The subcommittees assist the EA RP to prioritize regulatory issues for NAFSA. The EA RP currently has two subcommittees: Consular Affairs Liaison (CAL) Subcommittee and the Federal Financial Aid Subcommittee.
