Cultural Reality: A Virtual Predeparture Orientation Program

The Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) created a Web-based, interactive, predeparture orientation program comprised of seven modules including activities designed to help prepare students for the cross-cultural experience of studying abroad in three centers in Japan and three centers in Germany.

The program was designed to allow participants to explore different scenes from the host country, read testimonials from alumni, reflect on their expectations and world view, and learn new cross-cultural concepts and skills.
