Establishing a Virtual Cultural Exchange Community to Enhance Study Abroad Between Egypt and the United States

This project was designed to create a virtual cultural community to prepare Egyptian students enrolled in a Penn State/Cairo University joint-undergraduate program in Animal Sciences. The goal was to enhance the Egyptian students' understanding of U.S. culture and to develop relationships with U.S. counterparts before, during, and after the program.

The activities included:

• The design of a Web site;
• The creation of an e-pal system; and
  
• The integration of a community message board into the Web site.
