Madison International Program

The Madison International (MI) Program was designed to strengthen cultural awareness among students on campus. A 68-bed residence hall was used to host this program, comprised of U.S. and international students.

Residents were selected to participate in MI based upon a competitive application process. Within the building and on campus, MI participants focused their programs primarily on international cultures.

A broader understanding of the United States was also achieved by student participation on four excursions to various locations: Montpelier, Colonial Williamsburg, The Frontier Culture Museum, and Washington, DC. On these occasions, students were paired and provided discussion questions to facilitate an educational exchange.

Upon returning to the residence hall, participants shared their experience with other residents through an informational bulletin board, photo displays, newsletter articles, etc.
