Utilizing the Internet to Facilitate International Education
International students from the University of Houston traveled to Cage Elementary School near campus to promote the value of international education. University students gave presentations about their home countries and cultures. They also helped the children conduct searches in their computer classes for information about their home countries. The elementary students completed essays that were shared when they visited the university campus, and participated in a program designed to introduce them to the numerous Internet resources that address international geography, language, and culture.
Two foreign consular officials from Spain and Japan were also hosted on another day for a panel discussion addressing how to foster international educational exchange, and the impact of the Internet on their societies.
