Global Changes Program of Park University

The Global Changes Program of Park University was a 12-month project for U.S. and international students, faculty, staff, businesses, international organizations, and community representatives.

The program encouraged international students and scholars to become involved in and knowledgeable about U.S. culture and society through connections with local businesses, local student populations, and community organizations. The project took place on the Park University campus in Parkville, Missouri, and involved the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

Specific activities that Park University implemented were:
  • The Changing Global and Local Economics Forum: Teams of international and U.S. students conduct in-depth projects for local businesses and subsequently present their work in a forum together with qualified speakers;
  • International Month: Cultural performances and informational displays designed for the campus and the community;
  • Coming to the U.S. Series: International student presentation of their country and the students' experiences;
  • International Day at Jefferson City: International students travel to the state capitol to learn about state government, participate in an Optional Practical Training opportunities job fair, and meet other international students attending universities in Missouri; and
  • International Opportunities at Park University's Career Day: Special attention and information focusing on global employment opportunities.
