The Mississippi River: Link to Our Global Future

Focusing on the Mississippi River, the Minnesota International Center (MIC) organized a strong, multifaceted program—Mississippi River: Link to Our Global Future—to promote awareness of the global environment, especially water resources and the need for environmental sustainability. The approach was geared to individuals who are not involved in the formal study of water resources.

This strong and multifaceted project enabled 120 international students from more than 20 countries plus community members to learn about our environment, water quality issues, and the need for conservation of natural resources.

A series of presentations and experiential activities to engage participants in considering these themes. The project had a strong impact.
