Cultural Encounters in Georgia: Exploring the Southern Arts Community

This project introduced international and U.S. students and scholars to the arts and cultural communities in Georgia.

In this project, international students and scholars had an opportunity to learn about U.S. culture in the South through art exhibits, festivals, and cultural museums. The project also allowed for interaction among U.S. and international students on campus and within the local community.

Activities included:
  • International Olympic Mural Project;
  • North Georgia Folk Festival;
  • African American Cultural Museum;
  • Etowah Indian Mounds State Historical Site; and
  • Arvin Scott Hand Drumming Ensemble.
