Internationalizing the Campus: Nomination Process
Nominations are now closed
Follow the steps below to nominate your institution for the 2008 Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization or a spotlight in NAFSA's report Internationalizing the Campus 2008: Profiles of Success at Colleges and Universities.- The Selection Jury encourages a collaborative institutional process in preparing your nomination, and we can accept only one per institution. This requirement reflects the intention to document the internationalization of an institution as a whole. You may choose to create a nomination team, or you may wish simply to solicit information from a variety of offices across campus and ask one person to write the nomination essay.
- Download the nomination form by saving it to your computer—be sure to note the location of the saved form. Fill in the requested information and save the completed form. If you have difficulty downloading the form, you can request one by e-mailing NAFSA.
- Fill in the requested information and save the completed form.
- In addition to the nomination form, you will submit an essay of up to 2,000 words that makes the case about how your institution is internationalizing the campus. Within the limitation of this length, please supply as much detail as possible. We are looking for a succinct, well-reasoned statement that speaks to as many of the program selection criteria as the institution deems relevant. The more specifics you provide, the stronger your nomination will be.
NOTE: Send no background material. Institutions selected in the first round of screening may be asked to provide further information on a case-by-case basis.
- Updates will be posted on the NAFSA Web site.
