Embassy Dialogue Committee on Education SIG
Welcome from the EDC Chair
The process of international higher education in the United States (U.S.) is as complex and diverse as the global cultural traditions it seeks to embrace. With an eye towards the increasing necessity of communication within such an extensive community, Embassy Dialogue Committee on Education (EDC) serves as a forum to exchange information and to enhance communication between the educational and cultural attaches in Washington, D.C. and representatives of U.S. higher education institutions.
The EDC was established in 1986 by NAFSA: Association of International Educators. EDC draws its membership from the diplomatic corps, U.S. educational institutions, and private international education agencies. The members, who are volunteers, are highly committed in serving the international community in areas of concerns throughout the year by offering workshops and issue forums, organizing panels and fairs at the regional and national NAFSA conferences, and sponsoring embassy receptions.
On behalf of my EDC colleagues, I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Senem Bakar
