Webinar: Navigating NAFSA's 2008 Annual Conference and Expo

On May 9, four NAFSA leaders held a webinar to introduce first-time conference attendees to the NAFSA world. Participants gained insight into the NAFSA community and the design of the annual conference. Webinars like this are excellent opportunities to learn strategies for gaining the greatest benefit and enjoyment from conference attendance.

Planning Your Time at the Conference

Get the most out of your NAFSA conference experience by following these three steps when you arrive:
  1. Registration Packet
Review the contents of your packet. This information will be your guide. Contents include Conference Program; Pocket Planner; late-breaking conference information and notices; tips about Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas; information about next year's conference; and much more.
  2. Conference Program
Take time to read through your Conference Program. The first few pages have many helpful conference details. Sit down each evening to plan the following day. Review the list of exhibitors and highlight the ones you want to visit.
  3. Badges
Your name badge is your identity and your ticket to the International Education Expo, special events, and sessions. It helps colleagues identify you in and around the conference. If you are a first-timer, be sure to decorate your badge holder with a first-timer ribbon.
