Submission Instructions
Submitting your proposal for the 2009 NAFSA Annual Conference and International Education Expo can be done through the new online proposal system in seven simple steps.
- Prepare!
- Planning your proposal before you log into the online proposal system will help you gather your thoughts before navigating the technology.
- Typing your proposal answers in Microsoft Word or other word processing software will allow you to spell check and do a character count (including spaces) prior to entering your proposal.
- Use your NAFSA login and password as you would on the NAFSA Web site to begin your proposal.
- Anyone who has attended a NAFSA conference in recent years or who is a member will have a NAFSA login, whether they know it or not.
- You can search for your login either on the proposal system welcome page at proposals.nafsa.org or at www.nafsa.org/findme.
- Select the Event
- Select the event for which you are proposing.
- For the 2009 NAFSA Annual Conference and International Education Expo, please select 2009 NAFSA Annual Conference.
- Once you select an event, any proposals you have saved or submitted will be listed or you can start a new proposal.
- Select the appropriate form
- Select whether you wish to propose a Workshop, Session, Seminar, or Poster.
- Each type of activity has a different form.
- Enter your proposal
- Questions marked with an asterisk (*) are required. You will receive an error message if you skip a required question and will not be able to proceed. If you do not have an answer for an open-ended question, you can enter a question mark (?) and the system will let you continue. For questions where options are provided, you will need to make a selection.
- You will also receive an error message if you exceed the character count for an open-ended question. The system counts characters (including spaces), not words.
- Save or submit your proposal
- Submit: At the bottom of the proposal form, you will be asked to check a box to submit your proposal. If you submit your proposal, you will not be able to make changes or view your proposal until the ACC has completed its review. Be sure to save or print a copy of your proposal for your own reference.
- Save: If you wish to return and make changes, do not check this box and you can save the proposal. You must check this box and submit the proposal before the deadline or it will not be reviewed.
- Enter your copresenters
- You can search for the other people you want to include in your proposal in the system or enter someone that has not been affiliated with NAFSA before.
- You can also send an email within the system asking him or her to update their profile.
- You can add or remove presenters to your submission after submitting the proposal up to the deadline.
