Volunteers Needed

For the 2006 NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo, from initial arrivals in Montréal through the conference’s myriad workshops, sessions, and other related activities, many volunteers will be needed. If you would like to meet new people and have fun while helping to ensure that this year’s conference is a success, here is your chance.

First-Time Attendees

The First Timers Orientation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The orientation provides an overview of NAFSA and the conference, especially for international  participants and all those attending their first NAFSA conference. After introductory remarks, participants will divide into smaller groups for more informal question-and-answer sessions. Join this
session to learn more about NAFSA and gain advice on how to participate fully in the conference.

Accessibility

NAFSA is committed to providing access to all individuals attending the annual conference. Please check the appropriate box on the Registration Form to request accessibility services. When making hotel reservations, check the “special requests” line on the Official Housing Form, include a description of your needs so that you may be housed in the appropriate style room. For example, persons who are hearing impaired should indicate if a TDD phone is needed; persons who use mobility aids should indicate the type of mobility aid and its width because elevator dimensions and room layouts vary by hotel. For further assistance, send your needs in writing to NAFSA’s Conferences and Meetings Department, 1307 New York Avenue NW, 8th Floor, Washington, DC, 20005-4701 USA, or by e-mail to conference[at]nafsa.org by March 31, 2006.
