Plenary Speakers

The conference plenaries showcase the knowledge, views, and achievements of national and international leaders, as they discuss the complexities of global forces affecting international education and exchange. All of the plenary sessions are open to all conference registrants.

Session Schedule

More than 180 concurrent conference sessions will be offered and are open to all conference registrants. Topics include campus internationalization, administration and design of programs in education abroad, outcomes of international education and exchange, the education trends and systems of countries around the world, regional developments such as the Bologna process, institutional linkages, U.S. immigration policy and practice, cross-cultural and technical skills to enrich our work, and so on.

Open Meeting Schedule

In addition to more than 180 concurrent conference sessions, registrants are welcome to attend a host of open meetings such as special interest group meetings, knowledge community and regional update meetings, and a variety of orientation meetings geared towards first-time conference attendees, members based outside the U.S., students, and others.

Programs for Leaders in International Education

Conference Symposium

Now in its fifth year, this preconference symposium offers senior-level international education professionals an opportunity for exposure to a day of stimulating speakers infused with in-depth discussion of challenging topics leading to potential actions. This year’s symposium will focus on Open Inquiry in the Face of Cultural Extremism and will take place on Tuesday, May 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Management Development Program

Managers, this is your chance to participate in this popular 20-hour training. Offered on the two and one-half days prior to the annual conference (May 21–22, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and May 23, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.), the program is designed for both the international education manager without substantive management training experience and those who want to refresh their knowledge of core management concepts.
