Many universities and colleges have articulated in their mission a strong commitment to the internationalization of their institutions but when it comes to developing an institutional plan for internationalization, it's hard to know where to start.


Presenter

Bronwyn Jenkins-Deas Bronwyn Jenkins-Deas is the Dean of International Education at Malaspina University- College; a leading institution in international education in Canada.

At Malaspina University- College, Bronwyn plans and implements all aspects of international education and is responsible for the strategic management of internationalization.

She presents internationally on many topics around internationalization and teaches a course on Strategic Management and Internationalization at the University of British Columbia's Intercultural Institute.


Learning Objectives

  1. Examine the purposes and benefits of internationalization and ways of establishing, building and maintaining successful international programs and systems.
  2. Explore an innovative financial model for internationalization that supports reinvestment of international student fees to support the institution's international activities like study abroad, internationalization of the curriculum and other projects.
