NAFSA welcomes you to nominate your colleagues who have contributed the most to the field of international education. The four awards below each have their own set of criteria for identifying those deserving of recognition. Select an award to see the appropriate qualifications.
The deadline for nominations is March 2, 2012.
(NAFSA Awards Subcommittee reserves the right to consider all applicants for the most appropriate award.)
Criteria
To be considered for Life Membership, a nominee must have been a NAFSA member for at least 20 years and have retired from professional responsibilities.
Nominees must have documented achievements in the following areas:

To be considered for the Marita Houlihan Award, a nominee need not be directly involved with the everyday concerns of the NAFSA membership and
need not be a NAFSA member.Nominees must have documented accomplishments in all three areas below:
Criteria
To be considered for the Cassandra Pyle Award, a nominee must have at least 15 years experience in international education, an appreciable portion of which should be in policymaking positions in organizations or institutions with a recognized role in international educational exchange. The award is open to international educators worldwide.
Nominees need not be NAFSA members.Nominees must have made documented contributions in the following areas:
Criteria
To be considered for the Homer Higbee Award, a nominee must have donated at least ten years of distinguished service to the Association and should be continuing as an active NAFSAn.
The nominee must be a NAFSA member.Nominees must have documented accomplishments in all three of the areas below:

Primary nominators must be NAFSA members except for the Pyle Award.
If you are the primary nominator, please ask a minimum of 3 other nominators (list them below) to e-mail their recommendations for this nominee to leadership[at]nafsa.org. For the Life Membership, nominators must reside in 3 different regions or 2 nominators must reside in different regions and 1 must reside outside the U.S. If you are a supporting nominator, please fill out the primary nominator's name and e-mail, as well as your name and e-mail under second nominator. Supporters of the nomination need not be NAFSA members.
