Dear IEM Colleagues,
We hope that you are making plans to be in Houston this year for the 2012 NAFSA Annual Conference May 27rd through June 1st . It promises to be an outstanding event with many new offerings! Here are a few highlights from the program that may be of interest to you as you develop your conference schedule.
- Be sure to attend the RAP/IEM Community Reception on Monday, May 28th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to see old friends and colleagues and to meet new friends.
- Whether you are new to the field or a seasoned professional, there is something for everyone! Attend sessions that interest you! For a complete list, go to http://www.nafsa.org/ac12sessions-iem.
- Visit the RAP/IEM KC Networking Center to meet, relax, and share ideas in an informal setting. Have questions about credentials, stop by for one of the Credential Doctor Clinics or join round table discussions on other topics that interest you!
- Check out the Poster Fairs offered at the NAFSA annual conference this year. Don’t miss the Get Networked NAFSA Fair on Tuesday, May 29th from 9:00 am -11:00 am or the Country Fair!
- The RAP/IEM Knowledge Community experience page at http://www.nafsa.org/ac12IEM is a special place for you! Visit the site to see conference events that may be of interest to you.
- Come to the RAP/IEM KC update session on May 29, 2012 at 11:30 am -12:15 pm to meet the RAP/IEM team and to hear updates and more.

- Tuning USA Lumina Foundation Pilot Project
The Lumina Foundation with higher education officials from the States of Indiana, Minnesota and Utah have been working to create a shared understanding of transferable skills that students in six fields must demonstrate upon completion of a degree program. The pilot project was formed in consultation with U.S. and international experts on the Bologna Process and Tuning.

NAFSA's downloadable, free, e-Publication provides an overview of the Bologna Process. Topics include impact on U.S. competitiveness and implications for U.S. curriculum, along with specific information for credential evaluators, admissions professionals, education abroad professionals, campus deans and administrators. - Bologna Process 2009 Stocktaking Report
The 2009 Stocktaking Report presents results on progress participating countries have made in all aspects of the Bologna Process towards achieving the 2010 goals of Bologna. - Upcoming Bologna Ministerial Meetings and Bologna Policy Forum Meetings
Locations and dates of 2010 and beyond ministerial and policy forum meetings. The new Bologna Policy Forum looks to develop closer links between Bologna Countries and higher education systems around the world by meeting with representatives from non-EHEA countries, including the United States.
