Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) share a history of serving minority populations. With this common tradition come adversities that may not exist in majority institutions. These issues can impact many facets of the institution, including international education, international admissions, and study abroad.
The purpose of the HBCU Institutional interest group is:
- To address issues common to these institutions;
- To find solutions to problems encountered at these institutions as they relate to international education;
- To encourage students, faculty, and staff of minority-serving institutions to participate more actively in NAFSA and to engage in international activities.
