Remind Your Students and Faculty Abroad to Vote Absentee

March 7, 2008

Students and faculty abroad during the fall semester of 2008 will likely be abroad during the U.S. elections. Procedures and timelines for requesting an absentee ballot for state and local elections vary from state to state. NAFSA has pulled together a page – Absentee Ballot Procedures for Students/Educators Studying Abroad – that can assist you in providing information to your students and faculty so that they can avoid wasting time looking for the information themselves.

Refer students and faculty to the NAFSA resource page or pull information from it to insert in your own materials.

You can also encourage your students and faculty to join NAFSA's Advocacy Centered Team (ACT). All U.S. citizens are invited to join ACT to receive valuable information on issues and legislation affecting international education and exchange. ACT facilitates the process of sending letters to your elected officials, including members of Congress.
