Sample Institutional Practices for Using U.S. State Department Travel Warnings
This table, compiled by Adrian Beaulieu at Providence College, is based on information gathered using an informal, nonscientific survey of colleagues. It is not intended to be a complete listing of U.S. institutions, nor does it necessarily reflect overall university policy.
The table shows how education abroad professionals at specific U.S. institutions report using U.S. State Department Travel Warnings in the approval for study abroad in Israel. Some respondents also included information on what their response might be with respect to Travel Warnings in other locations.
Institutional responses fall into one of four categories:
- Unconditional Yes
- Conditional Yes
- Equivocal No
- Unequivocal No
Information for the original table, created in September 2004, was gathered using an informal, nonscientific survey of colleagues. It was last updated in April 2008.
