Public Good: Education Abroad, Internationalization, & the Curriculum
As our world continues down a path of globalization, we have also seen increasing attention on campus internationalization from a variety of sectors. A number of associations, organizations, and campuses have been working to show how internationalization, including curricular integration of international experience, is related to the general interest of the United States and its citizens.
Securing America's Future: Global Education in a Global Age
This NAFSA report, focused on the importance of study abroad to the future of the United States, includes information on curricular barriers to study abroad as well as recommendations for overcoming those hurdles and integrating study abroad into the college curriculum.
Global Competencies & National Needs
This report from the Commission on the Abraham Lincoln Study Abroad Fellowship Program provides evidence for the importance of study abroad to achieving an internationally educated citizenry.
Global Partners Project: Languages Across the Curriculum
Funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Global Partners Project is a collaboration among 42 liberal arts colleges that comprise three consortia—Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), Associated Colleges of the South (ACS), and Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA)—"to reconceive existing study-abroad programs through increased collaboration among the three consortia and their 42 member institutions." Several of the specific projects completed through this grant address curricular issues.
