Direct-Access Advocacy Tools

NAFSA has created these online tools that allow all international educators to turn their concerns into action and make their voices heard, whether it be about government regulations or about the need for a U.S. policy on international education.

IssueNet (Report an Issue)

Issue Net Promo IssueNet is NAFSA's online tool that allows members to submit issues related to government regulations and policies, including U.S. government and foreign government visa offices.

By reporting these problems and issues, members help determine NAFSA's advocacy and practice agenda and supply NAFSA leaders and staff with the tools needed to advocate for change. The Policy and Practice Committee uses data and anecdotal information posted to IssueNet to determine the need for liaison calls with agencies, new regulatory practice advisories, or referral to the knowledge communities for practice resources.

Take Action Center

Take Action The Take Action Center allows you to send letters to your members of Congress using NAFSA’s online letter-writing tool. This user-friendly service allows you to simply enter your address and with one click, have your message delivered to Capitol Hill. Additionally, it allows you to research your members of Congress, monitor issues and legislation, and much more.

From the Take Action Center, you can join NAFSA’s Advocacy Centered Team (ACT). ACT is NAFSA’s core grassroots network of advocates who want to communicate with their elected officials about important international education issues. By joining ACT, you will receive action alerts in your e-mail on issues related to international education and exchange.
