On-Demand Workshops

Coordinating training for staff is always a challenge. With NAFSA On-Demand Workshops, you can provide Foundation and Professional Practice workshops right in your area—when you need it—anywhere in the United States.

Now you can offer the same quality training to individuals unable to attend workshops offered at NAFSA's regional or annual conferences. If travel is difficult from your area or scheduling is an issue, On-Demand Workshops will deliver up-to-the-minute NAFSA training tailored for beginner and intermediate professionals. These workshops can be held on any date at any location throughout the year.

If you are interested in offering Foundation and Professional Practice workshops on demand, here's what you need to know.

How It Works

On Demand You provide:
  • Registrar and coordinate registration.
  • Catering, AV equipment arrangements, and fees.
  • Selection of Trainer Corps member to serve as a lead trainer (list of names available from NAFSA staff).
  • NAFSA staff with registration information (at least one week before the workshop).
NAFSA provides:
  • Participant manuals, certificates, rosters, name tags, and trainer materials.
  • Advertising of on-demand workshops on the upcoming training section of Web site and, if requested, with blast e-mails to targeted audiences.

Who Participates

  • You select the group.
  • A minimum of 10 participants is suggested. The interactive, participatory curriculum is most successful with a larger group.

How to Get Started

  • Simply download and complete the Workshop Proposal form (link below).
  • Get approval from the chair of the NAFSA region where workshop is to be presented.
  • Submit completed proposal via e-mail or mail. The proposal will be approved within 48 hours upon receipt.
  • Receive workshop materials from Training Services (up to two-week turnaround).
Easy, step–by-step instructions for “How it Works” and the Workshop Proposal Form (PDFs) are available for your convenient download.
