Guidelines for Ethical Practices in International Student Recruitment
This document is one of several new Web-based resources called NAFSA e-Publications. E-Publications offer special features including Web pages, downloadable and printable PDFs, and customized tools.
This resource is also available for sale to nonmembers.
This online publication is a guide to ethical practices in recruiting international students. Each chapter includes two parts. Part 1 provides an overview of the topic from knowledgeable administrators and practitioners and includes guidelines to ethical practice, a review of common dilemmas, and ideas about how to marginalize unethical practices. Part 2 provides additional information via detailed exercises and case studies. Chapters focus on different stakeholder groups. The guidance in this resource is based primarily on the NAFSA Code of Ethics.
This tool offers an overview of the topic and training support both for professionals who are new to their jobs and also for more advanced professionals who will be training new staff (or need a refresher on the topic of ethics in recruiting).
