Key Data on Higher Education in Europe European Commission Report
This September 2007 first edition of the European Commission report analyses trends across 31 European countries and consists of 70 indicators offering both qualitative and statistical data. The report includes a chapter on international student mobility and the national policies intended to encourage it. Among other trends the report identifies is that doctoral students are clearly more mobile than those at bachelor or master level. It offers an evaluative insight into the policies that aim to ensure that as many people as possible can access higher education of excellent quality.
Leading the field in percentage of students enrolled in higher education who come from another European country is Austria, followed by Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
The report was put together by the European Commission’s statistical service, Eurostat, and the European education information network, Eurydice.
