Management Development Program

PFL Washington Symposium Management from an International Education Perspective
Increase Your Own Management Potential

May 25-27, 2008

The Management Development Program meets the needs of international education (IE) managers by engaging you in an interactive learning environment which puts the focus on your individual management experience.

Using experiential learning methods and personal reflection, participants are engaged and challenged to increase their own potential as managers. This two and a half day training focuses on key areas affecting management in international education offices. You will:
  • Conduct an environmental scan of your IE program
  • Apply a performance-management model to your program and staff
  • Learn and apply a comprehensive change management model
  • Look closely at your own leadership style and assess how it integrates with the needs of your staff and your institution's culture
  • Inventory your political skills and identify key improvement areas
  • Recognize and capitalize on opportunities to exercise influence
  • Identify ways you can address your job-related stressors
