Matching Gifts

Many companies, institutions, and organizations offer a matching-gift benefit to their employees to inspire charitable giving. Sometimes the gifts of retirees, members of the board of directors, and spouses are also eligible. Please contact your employer's Human Resource or Development office to determine if they match employee donations and if NAFSA is eligible to receive a matching gift.

If your employer is not listed, this does not mean that they do not participate—just contact them and ask! Some companies without formal programs will match your gift, if you ask. For more information from NAFSA, contact Gail Hochhauser.

I	Alaska Airlines	Alaska	Full and part time employees' donations to non-profit educational institutions and organizations will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
I	Nike, Inc.	Oregon	U.S. based employees' donations are matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000 per year.

II	Arizona Public Services Company	Arizona	Financial gifts from an employee are matched .50 cents to every employee dollar, up to $1,000.
II	Kansas City Southern Industries	Kansas	Matching guidelines can be obtained by contacting Julie Powell at julie.d.powell@kcsr.com
III	TI – Texas Instruments	Texas	The company will match an employee donation. Contact giving@ti.com
IV	Xcel Energy	Minnesota	Xcel Energy Foundation matches employee and retiree gifts dollar-for-dollar.
V	Kellogg Company	Michigan	Provides a dollar-for-dollar match of employee gifts.
VI	Lexmark	Kentucky	Dollar-for-dollar matches are made for contributions by regular employees, retirees or eligible spouses. The maximum match is $5,000 per participating employee, per institution, per year.
VII	Citrix	Florida	Up to $1,000 is matched per employee per year.
VII	Bank of America	North Carolina	Dollar-for-dollar, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation matches up to $5,000 per person each calendar year within certain guidelines.
VII	First Tennessee Bank	Tennessee	Employee gifts between $50 and $2,000 are matched at 50 cents on the dollar. For more information contact Leslie Lee at LNLee@firsthorizon.com.
VII	The Coca-Cola Company	Georgia	Eligible employees may have their gifts matched.
VIII	Fannie Mae	Washington, DC	Offers a matching gift program for eligible donations.
VIII	Freddie Mac	Virginia	Matches employees' monetary gifts through a matching gifts program
VIII	Highmark	Pennsylvania	Employees' monetary donations are matched in the matching gifts program.
X	JPMorgan Chase	New York	One of the first corporations to institute the matching gift program, which is still strong today.
X	IBM	New York	Employees and retirees' matches are made in either money or equipment donations.
X	General Electric	New Jersey	The GE Fund matches dollar for dollar.
XI	United Technologies Corporation	Connecticut	Donation given by the employee or their family are doubled up to $100.
XI	MassMutual	Massachusetts	Matching gift must be approved at the end of each year quarter and the employee must be a member of the Leaders Club.
XI	Ben & Jerry's	Vermont	Matches dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 a year per staff member
XII	Levi Strauss & Company	California	In the U.S., the Levi Strauss Foundation matches employee and retiree contributions dollar- for-dollar.
