Foundations for the Next Generation

New Century Circle The New Century Circle is a special group of unique NAFSA supporters dedicated to planning for future generations of international educators. By participating in the New Century Circle by pledging through your bequests/wills and other means of special giving, you are extending your support for international education and exchange beyond your own lifetimes—into a future where we might have to be even more aggressive advocates for international students and scholars than we are today. Building a planned giving program for NAFSA is crucial because establishing and maintaining access to international opportunities for a more diverse group of educators and students is an important and expensive national goal.

Becoming a member of the New Century Circle means making a pledge now but not giving now. There is no minimum amount required for your pledge. However, if you would like to join the NCC and give NAFSA a gift outright, that is fine as well. If you have already included NAFSA in your estate planning, please let us know so we can officially welcome you to the New Century Circle. You may choose to give your gift to NAFSA through your:
  • Bequests/Will
  • Securities
  • Retirement Plans
  • Life Insurance and
  • Certificates of Deposit (CD) or Bank Account.

By offering NAFSA a planned gift, you help to ensure the future security and solvency of the association. In addition, such charitable contributions often provide the donor with substantial tax savings and deductions.

In its first year, 55 NAFSA members pledged to support NCC as Founders. New Century Circle's Ambassador campaign ended on December 31, 2005 with 62 new members. A plaque will be hung in the NAFSA central office listing all NCC Ambassadors.

A new campaign began in January 2006. Individuals who pledge to the NCC between January 2006 and December 31, 2008 will be known as "Diamond Anniversary Diplomats" in honor of NAFSA's 60th Anniversary.
