What do you get when you bring together an informal group of NAFSA members and non-members united by an interest close to their hearts? You get a Member Interest Group - one of the most personal and welcoming ways to find your place in NAFSA.

Many MIGs offer resources and ongoing activities throughout the year, including Web sites, online discussion forums and resource documents, list-servs, newsletters, publications, travel and research grant opportunities, and active relationships with outside organizations.

United Nations SIG

The United Nations SIG is for NAFSA members who are interested in nurturing the relationship between NAFSA members and the United Nations and its organizations. This SIG intends to make campuses worldwide aware of the challenges and achievements of the Millennium Development Goals.

Liberal Arts Institutions: Small and Residential IIG (LAI:S&R)

The LAI: S&R IIG promotes networking of its members at the NAFSA annual conference and other venues, ensures that topics of interest to small colleges are included, and promotes the liberal arts perspective at NAFSA events. The LAI: S&R IIG also educates overseas educational advisers about its unique mission and services.

Global Nomads SIG

The purpose of the GN SIG is to provide formal recognition of global nomads as a unique group within both the international student community and NAFSA, to establish a forum for discussing the benefits and challenges of an internationally mobile childhood, and to encourage sharing of resources and ideas among NAFSAns who are global nomads.
