International Educators from Around the World Will Gather in Montreal at NAFSA 58th Conference
Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Wangari Maathai, Shirin Ebadi, part of distinguished speaker lineup, with Mary Robinson and Dan Buettner
WASHINGTON, April 14, 2006 – The 58th Annual Conference of NAFSA: Association of International Educators will be held May 23–26 at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal, Canada, and will feature a remarkable lineup of internationally recognized leaders in human rights, sustainable development, education, and global peace and justice.
NAFSA's annual conference is the world’s largest gathering of professionals in international education and exchange, drawing nearly 6,000 participants from 90 countries. The conference is anchored by daily plenary events, which will feature the following speakers this year:
With dozens of preconference workshops and nearly 200 sessions, the NAFSA conference offers a vast array of learning and networking opportunities for international educators, addressing topics such as education abroad program administration, international student advising, global education trends and systems, international education policy, and more. A highlight of the conference is the International Education Expo Hall, which features exhibitors representing more than 350 organizations from around the world, including colleges and universities, study abroad and intensive-English programs, and more.
