Executive Leadership Development Program 2008
Intensive Training for Leaders in International Education
July 13-18, 2008
This week-long, intensive program allows leaders in international education to develop the leadership skills necessary for advancing the international education agenda in complex campus environments. Limited to 35 participants, the program draws on expert faculty from around the country and is a highly interactive experience with lectures, small group work, and individual readings.Designed by upper-level NAFSAns in conjunction with the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, the program focuses on six topics that form the core of the discussions:
- Influencing systems in complex organizations
- Strategic thinking
- Implementing and sustaining change
- Managing conflict
- Decision-making and risk-taking
- Leadership and action planning
Who Should Attend
The Executive Leadership Development Program is appropriate for deans, directors, and mid-career managers who deal in complex problem solving, who contribute to campus strategy. The program is also very valuable for faculty members or former foreign service members who are about to take on an administrative role on campus and need to enhance their communication and management skills.Fees and Deadlines

Included in the fee are all learning materials, continental breakfast, and lunch for each day of the program. Full fee is due upon registration.
Hotel Accommodations and Transportation
Hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the participant. Space at the discounted rate of $109 (plus tax) per night will be available at the Holiday Inn Metrodome. Please reference "NAFSA" when making your reservations.The Holiday Inn Metrodome works with the Airport SuperShuttle for transportation to and from the MSP International Airport.
