Living Abroad in November: Vote Absentee
On November 4, 2008, citizens of the United States of America will cast votes for one third of the Senate, all members of the House of Representatives and a new President. This year could be the most important election in decades and we encourage you to be a part of it! If you are a U.S. citizen who will be living abroad in November, do not forget to request an absentee ballot for the 2008 election.Citizens who will be living outside the United States have a few steps they must take to ensure that they receive an absentee ballot. For those living overseas, even temporarily, there is a federal form called the Federal Postcard Application (FPCA) that should be used to request an absentee ballot.

Many of you are now preparing to meet with your study abroad students who will be living abroad in November. If you, your students, faculty, friends and/or family will be living outside of the U.S. on Election Day, please review and follow procedures to ensure all votes are counted! - Traveling Domestically on Election Day
Many Regional Conferences occur on or around Election Day. If you will be away from home, remember to request an absentee ballot. To obtain an absentee ballot, contact your state Board of Elections. You can find your state Board of Elections contact information by entering your State name followed by Board of Elections into any search engine (for example – Maryland Board of Elections)
