More than 90 percent of Americans believe it is important to prepare future generations for a global society, according to a December 2005 national poll commissioned by NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The American people are ahead of their leaders. Co-written with the Alliance for International Education and Cultural Exchange, this refreshed policy statement reflects the critical importance of international education and sets forth concrete steps to achieve important national interests through a comprehensive international education policy.
