Securing America's Future: Global Education for a Global Age

This NAFSA Strategic Task Force on Education Abroad report warns that Americans' lack of knowledge of the world represents a “national liability" in the war on terrorism. Securing America’s Future: Global Education for a Global Age sets out concrete recommendations to federal and state governments, higher education institutions, and the private sector for addressing the problem, focusing specifically on the need to dramatically increase the participation of U.S. college students in study abroad opportunities.

The Strategic Task Force on International Student Access was created to address a major objective of NAFSA’s Strategic Plan for 2001-2003: Increasing International Student Access to U.S. Higher Education. The mission of the task force on International Student Access was to look strategically and holistically at the subject of international student access to study in the United States and to articulate a coherent strategy for increasing such access that addresses all of the major, relevant factors.
