The following survey was sent out to the list-serv for Section on U.S. Students Abroad SECUSS-L on December 5, 2004.

Has that program been suspended due to the regulation changes imposed last summer?

61 institutions responded.
45 institutions reported the suspension of existing programs to Cuba after August 2004
2 more institutions reported canceling plans to offer new programs to Cuba in 2004-2005

Reasons for Program cancellation:

45 institutions reported that programs were cancelled due to program length (less than 10 weeks in-country)
3 institutions/organizations had to cancel semester programs because enrollment depended on degree-seeking students from other institutions.
