The following survey was sent out to the list-serv for Section on U.S. Students Abroad SECUSS-L on December 5, 2004.

Results from the Survey as of January 3, 2005
- 61 institutions responded.
- 45 institutions reported the suspension of existing programs to Cuba after August 2004
- 2 more institutions reported canceling plans to offer new programs to Cuba in 2004-2005
- 45 institutions reported that programs were cancelled due to program length (less than 10 weeks in-country)
- 3 institutions/organizations had to cancel semester programs because enrollment depended on degree-seeking students from other institutions.
