Business for Diplomatic Action (BDA)
The World Citizens Guide, published by Business for Diplomatic Action (BDA) and Southern Methodist University, provides international educators with a new tool for talking with U.S. students about traveling abroad and perceptions of the United States abroad. The little book, with its workbook component, offers a straightforward, critical, and thought-provoking look at U.S. culture.

BDA, formed in January 2004 to help reduce anti-American sentiment abroad, includes leading professionals from the fields of global communications, marketing, research and media. It is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization committed to mobilizing and harnessing the private sector in public diplomacy efforts.

The World Citizens Guide may provide the new perspective you've been seeking to include in your predeparture or on-site orientations by adding to the tools and resources you already use. This book created by students for students may prompt your own students to ask the questions they need to ask about themselves and their own behavior and biases, in addition to those questions they are bound to ask about their destination countries.

NAFSA is pleased to be able to make copies of the book available to its members and higher education institutions for a nominal handling charge. UPS is providing sponsorship through a shipping subsidy. Please note that all orders for the world citizens guide must be submitted by use of this order form and cannot be made by telephone or combined with another NAFSA publication order.

If you are not from a university in the United States, you may download the free abridged version from the World Citizens Guide Web site.
