The Office of Foreign Labor Certification has implemented a dedicated Help Desk Unit at the Chicago National Processing Center (CNPC) to serve as a resource to those employers and or their representatives filing Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) with the Department of Labor. The Help Desk e-mail box will be monitored daily Monday through Friday during the business hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time, and inquiries will be handled as expeditiously as possible.

Contact LCA.CHICAGO@dol.gov for program-related questions/issues, such as:
  • General LCA Question
  • Case Status Inquiry
  • LCA Account Question/Issue

In the subject line, please include the [LCA Case Number] and one of the following references:
  • General LCA Question
  • Case Status Inquiry
  • LCA Account Question/Issue
Example: [LCA Case Number] Case Status Inquiry

In the body of the e-mail
, please include the following information:
  • LCA Case Number
  • Contact information (return phone number or e-mail address)
  • Relationship to applicant (e.g., attorney/agent representing employer)
  • Your specific question and/or additional information, such as employer name or specific filing issue

To Withdraw an LCA

An employer or employer’s authorized representative may at any time withdraw a “Certified” LCA by written request or through an e-mail request as specified below.

Email Option:

A PDF attachment of the LCA may be e-mailed to the Chicago National Processing Center at LCA.Chicago@dol.gov.

The e-mail must include:
  1. A subject line that reads “Certified LCA Withdrawal Request.”
  2. The employer’s name.
  3. The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) case number that begins with the letter “I.”
  4. Language indicating the employer’s reason for withdrawing the LCA.

US Mail or Fax Option:

A written request and cover letter on professional letterhead may be mailed or faxed to the following address:

The cover letter for the LCA withdrawal must include:
  1. The employer’s name.
  2. The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) case number that begins with the letter “I”.
  3. Language indicating the employer’s reason for withdrawing the LCA.
  4. Language indicating that there are no workers employed on the LCA pursuant to it being withdrawn.
  5. The Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) may be included but is not required.

Note: DOL is unable to process withdrawal requests over the phone, or through a written e-mail without the LCA attached.

If case is outside the estimated processing times:
