| April 22, 2008 Spain- LA Consulate Requires Specific Insurance For student visas, the LA Consulate now requires proof of insurance that will cover 100% of the medical expenses with emergency and repatriation services and a minimum coverage of 30.000€ or its equivalent in dollars. Policies with reimbursements or co-payments will not be accepted. |
| April 22, 2008 China- New Requirements at Chicago Consulate for F visas The Chinese Consulate in Chicago now requires a copy of the Flight Itinerary and Hotel Reservations for any individual requesting an F visa, which includes students on programs less than 6 months. |
| April 20, 2008 UKVisas is now part of the unified UK Border Agency Effective April 3, 2008, the UK created a new agency called the UK Border Agency which will handle all border, immigration, customs and visa checks. |
| April 20, 2008 Czech Republic Joins Schengen Area ( Effective December 31, 2007, the Czech Republic joined the Schengen Area, which requires that any individual with intent to remain more than 90 days must have a visa. Short-stay as well as long-stay visas issued by the Czech Republic before December 31, 2007 will remain valid for the period indicated, but the holder will not be allowed to travel outside the Czech Republic. |
