Spain- LA Consulate Requires Specific Insurance
For student visas, the LA Consulate now requires proof of insurance that will cover 100% of the medical expenses with emergency and repatriation services and a minimum coverage of 30.000€ or its equivalent in dollars. Policies with reimbursements or co-payments will not be accepted.

China- New Requirements at Chicago Consulate for F visas
The Chinese Consulate in Chicago now requires a copy of the Flight Itinerary and Hotel Reservations for any individual requesting an F visa, which includes students on programs less than 6 months.

UKVisas is now part of the unified UK Border Agency
Effective April 3, 2008, the UK created a new agency called the UK Border Agency which will handle all border, immigration, customs and visa checks.

Czech Republic Joins Schengen Area (Adobe PDF 548kb)
Effective December 31, 2007, the Czech Republic joined the Schengen Area, which requires that any individual with intent to remain more than 90 days must have a visa. Short-stay as well as long-stay visas issued by the Czech Republic before December 31, 2007 will remain valid for the period indicated, but the holder will not be allowed to travel outside the Czech Republic.
