Update on CampusFrance Approvals
January 4, 2008
As of December 28, 2007, CampusFrance had resolved the processing delays for CampusFrance approvals.
Advisers and students are encouraged to contact CampusFrance directly by:
Phone: (202) 944 6294 or
Email: washington@campusfrance.org
If an adviser is aware of further delays, or is unable to reach CampusFrance directly, please report the issue to NAFSA through Report an Issue.
December 7, 2007
Due to the increased volume of applications on the CampusFrance registration system, delays are longer than expected at this time. The office is open and has even hired additional staff to assist with processing. However, the CampusFrance staff may not be able to respond to the high volume of calls, emails and faxes (some of them repeated calls from advisers, students, and their parents) while they are attempting to catch up with the high demand.
Christian Joly, the Higher Education Officer for the Embassy of France, graciously offered to assist in emergency cases where the visa appointment is within 3 business days and the student has not received CampusFrance approval. Mr. Joly will work with CampusFrance staff to ensure that the CampusFrance confirmation is received in time for the visa appointment. In addition, the Embassy is already planning strategy for next year, taking into consideration holidays, the academic schedule, and the fact that many students leave their university residence to return home at the end of the semester.
Note: As of January 4, 2008, the fax number has been removed as CampusFrance has resolved the processing delays.
For all other enquiries: Please report your issue to NAFSA through Report an Issue which will be forwarded to the Point Person for Study Abroad Visa issues on the P&P Committee.
