2008 DOS Student and Exchange Visitor Cable

The Department of State posted its annual student and exchange visitor visa issues cable for 2008. The cable instructs posts to have a clear procedure in place for expediting F, M, and J appointments and to place it prominently on post's Web site. This cable clarifies some of the information on Form DS-2019, and reminds posts about required annotations and the end of requirements to put DS-2019 forms in sealed envelopes. This cable also includes a brief summary of the changes in J-1 sponsor sanctions procedures.
